Allegedly drunk driver hospitalized after multi-vehicle crash on Southern Blvd

RIO RANCHO, NM – One person was taken to the hospital following a multi-vehicle crash in Rio Rancho this morning that may have been caused by intoxicated driving, according to information from the Rio Rancho Observer.

The crash happened at Southern Boulevard and Unser Boulevard at around 9 a.m., when a driver heading eastbound collided with the median and traffic light.

The impact toppled over the pole, and the vehicle then continued through the intersection. It collided with two other vehicles, then went through shrubbery and trees. Finally, the vehicle crashed into a parked vehicle and landed upside-down.

The driver, identified as Renee Jordan, was taken to the hospital to receive treatment for non-life-threatening wounds.

No other injuries were reported in the crash.

Jordan is facing charges of reckless driving, driving with a revoked license, and aggravated DUI in connection with the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
