NARRATIVE:
ALBUQUERQUE, NM – One driver died, and another driver sustained injuries Wednesday in a two-vehicle crash at a busy Albuquerque intersection.
The collision occurred late at night at the intersection of Lomas Boulevard and Washington Street, which is on the east side of the city in the La Hacienda area.
Police say that a 2021 white Jeep collided with a 2013 silver Chevrolet SUV as the latter vehicle turned from Lomas onto Pennsylvania. The Jeep then overturned after hitting a pole.
The driver of the Jeep died at the scene. Authorities have not yet released their identity.
Medics transported the driver of the SUV to the hospital with non-critical injuries.
A full investigation is underway.
