Narrative
ALBUQUERQUE, NM – One person died in the South Los Altos area when a vehicle struck them at a busy intersection on Tuesday.
Crews responded to an afternoon crash at the intersection of Central Avenue Northeast and Garcia Street, which is south of Los Altos Golf Course and west of The Home Depot.
The investigation thus far indicates that the victim may have entered oncoming traffic outside of a designated crosswalk. According to police, the driver involved in the vehicle claimed to be unable to avoid hitting the pedestrian.
Authorities haven’t yet released the victim’s identity to the public.
The investigation is ongoing.
