Police say that an impaired driver neglected to heed a stop sign on Propps Street just before crashing his white Ford Expedition through the garage of a house on Mahlon Avenue. The SUV impacted with a vehicle in the garage, at which point both vehicles crashed into the home, striking a resident.
Medics worked to extricate the homeowner, who died after transport to a local hospital.
The driver of the SUV, identified as 52-year-old Mark Castello, sustained minor injuries. Castello faces multiple charges, including DUI resulting in death, possession of a controlled substance, and driving with a revoked license.
