RATON, NM – A man died Monday after his vehicle crashed into a train in north-central Colfax County.
The incident occurred just before 11 a.m. at the tracks that intersect Highway 555 on the west side of Raton.
Police say a vehicle crashed into an Amtrak train near the highway. It’s not yet clear what caused the vehicle to crash.
Medics transported a man from the passenger vehicle to a local hospital, where he died from injuries sustained in the accident. Authorities have not yet released his name to the public.
No other injuries have been reported in connection to the accident.
