Narrative
EDDY CO., NM – A 29-year-old man from Sonora died Wednesday in a multi-vehicle crash along a highway in southern Eddy County.
The accident occurred around 5:45 a.m. on Potash Mines Road, or NM-31, near Loving.
Police haven’t yet detailed how the crash happened, but they say it involved a 2024 GMC Sierra, a 2019 Chevy Aveo, and a 2004 Ram 1500.
Medics transported the victim, identified as Daniel Ruiz Rubal, to a local hospital, where he later died from injuries sustained in the collision.
Authorities do not suspect intoxication as a causative factor in the crash.
