EDDY CO., NM – A Carlsbad man lost his life in a rollover crash near the Texas border on Thursday.

Eddy County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to the scene on US-61 near milepost 47.

Investigators say a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe was heading east on the highway when it collided with the center median. In an attempt to regain control and return to the roadway, the driver overcorrected, causing the vehicle to overturn.

The cause of the accident and other relevant details have not been released by the authorities as the investigation remains ongoing.
