MORA COUNTY, NM – A fatal crash on State Road 120 took the lives of a 42-year-old woman and two little girls Saturday night.
KRQE said the crash happened around 10:45 pm. The cause of the collision was due to speeding. Jesse Joel Blanco, 22, was identified as the driver.
Police said the car Blanco hit was a 2004 Saturn. The car was backing out of the driveway, and the force of Blanco’s vehicle also injured a 21-year-old woman.
The 21-year-old woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and the little girls were 2 and 4 years of age.
Blanco had passenger Dominic Armijo in his car. Armijo suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital. Police charged him with attempting to hide alcohol in the vehicle. He’ll get booked once he gets out of the hospital.
Blanco was booked at San Miguel County Detention Center. He was charged with speeding, reckless driving, and a DWI.
