Narrative
MEDANALES, NM – Four people died on Saturday in a two-vehicle collision along the highway west of Medanales in southeastern Rio Arriba County.
The incident happened around 3:30 a.m. on US-84 at milepost 202.
It’s not yet clear what caused the accident, but police say that a 2000 Jeep Cherokee and a 2019 GMC truck collided head-on. The impact of the crash caused both vehicles to ignite.
Both vehicles were carrying two occupants, and all four people died at the scene of the collision. Authorities have not yet released the names of the victims.
