Narrative

SANTA FE CO., NM – A 53-year-old motorcyclist died on Saturday night after crashing his motorcycle along the highway between Madrid and Los Cerrillos.

The incident happened around 11:50 p.m. on NM-14 near mile marker 30, which is just north of Madrid near Perro Canyon Road.

Police say the motorcyclist, identified as Dirk Stronck, lost control of his bike and struck a guardrail along the highway. He died at the scene.

A full investigation is underway. At this time, police say the victim may have been intoxicated at the time of the accident.
