Narrative:
POLVADERA, NM – A 22-year-old woman died Friday after a vehicle struck her along a Socorro County roadway and fled the scene.
The incident happened around 5:30 a.m. on I-25 near mile marker 161 in Polvadera. This is near the Sevilleta National Wildlife Refuge.
Police say two people exited their Chevy pickup after a solo crash on the interstate. A northbound white sedan struck and killed one of the occupants of the Chevy as she was collecting personal items from the initial crash.
Authorities identified the victim as Adriana Jurado.
The vehicle involved in the pedestrian crash fled the scene of the accident. Police are looking for a white sedan with front-end damage.
