MORIARTY, NM – Two men died last Thursday in northwest Torrance County after an 18-wheeler left the interstate and crashed into a blacksmith shop and school.
The incident occurred on Thursday, November 9, in the 100 block of North Corvin Court in Moriarty.
Details regarding the crash are still limited. Police say that two brothers, Chad and Brad Gunter, the owners of the blacksmith shop, were inside the the building at the time of the accident. Both men died at the scene from injuries sustained during the incident.
It’s unclear at this time if the truck driver was injured in the accident, and police are still investigating what might have caused the driver to leave the roadway.
